Research interests

The main purpose of my researches concerns individuals' motivation for sport and exercise, in educational (Physical Education), sport and health contexts. The main interrogations relate to variables and processes which regulate physical activity commitment and withdrawal. Theoretical frameworks resulting from contemporary socio-cognitive models such as self-determination theory (e.g., Deci & Ryan, 2002), achievement goal theory (e.g., Elliot & Dweck, 2005), self-concept theory (e.g., Marsh, Craven, & McInerney, 2005), social role theory (e.g., Eagly, Baron, & Hamilton, 2004) or stereotype threat theory (Steele, 1997) are particularly valued in order to bring answers to these practical questions, while contributing to develop the most recent theoretical models.

Key-Words : Motivation, sport, exercise, social psychology, health.
